Pageant Prep, Pressure & Passion: Varsha Reddy’s Road to Mrs Glam World

Winning the title of Mrs South India 2024 was a huge milestone. How has that experience transformed you, and what does it mean to now carry the Indian flag at Mrs Glam World?

Winning the title of Mrs South India 2024 was more than just a crown. It was a turning point in how I see myself and what I stand for. It wasn’t just a winning moment on stage; it was a mirror. A mirror that reflected how far I’ve come from the girl who used to hold herself back, doubt her voice, and think she had to shrink to fit in. That experience gave me more than a title; it gave me clarity, confidence, and a whole new understanding of who I am and what I stand for. And now, getting the honour to carry the Indian flag at Mrs Glam World feels incredibly meaningful. I see it as a chance to represent not just our country, but the spirit of every Indian woman, ambitious, graceful, rooted, and ready to take on the world. It’s not just about walking on that stage; it’s about walking in with the power, pride, and legacy of where I come from.

When you found out you’d be representing India on such a prestigious international stage, what was the very first thought or emotion that crossed your mind?

Honestly, when I found out, I just went quiet for a second. It hit me that I was about to carry the name of an entire nation, and not just any nation, but India. The first emotion was pride, followed by a deep sense of responsibility. It felt powerful. I didn’t see it as pressure, I saw it as permission. Permission to stand tall for every woman who’s ever balanced tradition, ambition, and grace. I do realise that this is bigger than me; it is my responsibility now to show the world what India truly stands for: courage, culture, and unstoppable women.

Pegasus has been part of your journey right from Mrs South India to now the Mrs Glam World finale. How would you describe your overall experience working with them through these incredible milestones?

My journey with Pegasus started way back in 2012, when I was part of Miss South India. It’s been almost a decade since then. From that very first pageant to now, preparing for the Mrs Glam World finale, Pegasus has been a constant force in my life.

They’ve seen me evolve not just as a contestant, but as a woman. From a young girl stepping onto a stage for the first time to now representing India on a global platform, they’ve been there through it all.

What makes them special is that they don’t just create events, they build people. With every milestone, they’ve brought out the best in me, professionally, emotionally, and personally. Working with Pegasus feels like coming full circle, and I’m incredibly grateful to be carrying forward this journey with the same team that believed in me from the very start.

The grand finale is just around the corner! What has been the most thrilling part of your preparations so far, and what challenges have pushed you to grow the most?

Since this is an international platform, I know the pressure and the expectations are on a completely different level. The competition is going to be fierce, and I’m honestly preparing twice as hard as I thought I would. This isn’t something you can take lightly, and I’m very aware of the standard I need to meet and go beyond.

What excites me the most is curating my looks, especially the national costume round. That moment is so important to me because I want to represent India’s culture, strength, and diversity in a way that feels authentic and powerful.

Of course, managing everything isn’t easy. I’m balancing work, family, and intense prep, but I’ve accepted that this is going to take all of me. And I’m ready for it. Because if I’m representing India on the world stage, I want to make sure I leave no stone unturned

You have the chance to showcase India to the world. In what ways are you bringing our country’s culture, values, and elegance to the Mrs Glam World stage?

Representing India isn’t just about wearing a tricolor sash; it’s about carrying a nation that holds millions of cultures, languages, traditions, and values… all living together in harmony. India is where we say ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ where guests are treated like gods, and hospitality is a way of life.

So when I walk onto that stage, I’m not just representing one region or one style, I’m representing all of India. From the way I speak to the way I carry myself, from my values to my attire, I want every part of my presence to reflect the heart of this incredible country.

If you win the Mrs Glam World crown, what positive change or cause would you most passionately champion on a global scale?

If I win the Mrs Glam World crown, I want to be the voice for women who feel invisible, especially those who’ve put everyone else first their whole lives. I want to remind them that dreams don’t expire with age or circumstance. They just evolve. I would actively start confidence-building programs, storytelling campaigns, and real conversations. I would work to help women reclaim their identity not as someone’s wife, daughter, or mother alone, but as leaders, dreamers, and changemakers in their own right.
