One Dead, Over a Dozen Injured In Noida After Fog Causes Collision

According to reports, the dense fog that blanketed numerous regions of north India this morning was the cause of an overturned bus carrying 60 passengers that resulted in one fatality and 14 injuries. The accident happened on the Delhi-Jhansi motorway.

On the section of the Eastern Peripheral Highway that runs between Agra and Noida, the accident happened close to Galgotia University. The bus struck a container that had abruptly halted. According to reports, the dense layer of fog reduced visibility on the highway to less than 50 metres. Soon after the collision, police arrived at the scene and launched a rescue effort. Hurriedly transported to a hospital, one of the accident victims died while receiving care there.

Questions have been raised about the administration’s efforts to prevent similar accidents in the wake of the catastrophe. One of the reasons why drivers struggle to maintain control of their vehicles in foggy circumstances is the lack of bright road signs.

Fog also slowed down traffic in Delhi, which led airport administrators to implement a poor visibility action plan.

Prior to boarding a plane, a traveller recorded a video that reveals the tarmac’s low visibility. In a tweet from earlier that morning, the Delhi Airport issued a warning to travellers while reassuring them that aircraft operations were unaffected at the time.”Low Visibility Procedures are in progress at Delhi Airport. All flight operations are presently normal. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information,” the tweet read.

In different regions of north India, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and certain parts of Uttar Pradesh, the weather department has forecast severe to very dense fog conditions.

The incident occurred the day after a number of people were hurt in a pile-up involving numerous automobiles on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway that was also caused by fog.
