No political games; Actor Vijay files case against his parents

The Madras High Court will hear actor Vijay’s petition seeking an injunction restraining his father SA Chandrasekhar and mother Sobha from holding political meetings using his name and picture.

Apart from his parents, the actor has approached the court against Padmanabhan, a relative and in-charge of ‘Vijay Makkal Iyakam’, a fan club, and 8 office bearers of the movement.

Vijay’s father and director S.A. Chandrasekhar started the organization called Vijay Makkal Iyakam. He was then registered with the Election Commission. Chandrasekhar is the General Secretary and Sobha is the Treasurer. Vijay had issued a press release stating that he had no affiliation with the party after reports surfaced that he was joining his father’s political party.
