Newly-Weds Found Dead Before Reception, Groom’s Mother Heard Bride Scream
Just before their wedding reception in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, a newlywed couple was discovered dead with stab wounds to their bodies inside a room at their home, police said on Wednesday.
Authorities believe that after a quarrel between the two, the guy fatally stabbed his wife before committing suicide. An officer stated that the event happened late Tuesday night at Brijnagar, which is within the boundaries of Tikrapara police station.
The wedding reception for Aslam (24) and Kahkasha Bano (22) was set for Tuesday night. Aslam and Kahkasha got married on Sunday. The bride’s screams were heard by the groom’s mother, who reportedly hurried there as they were getting ready for the event in their chamber.
“The room was locked from inside and when they did not respond, the family members peeped through a window and found them lying unconscious in a pool of blood, following which they informed the police,” he said.
He added that a knife was found near where the door was broken open by police, who then sent the bodies of the victims, who had been stabbed, for a post-mortem.
“Prima facie it seems that an argument broke out between the couple and the man attacked his wife with a knife and then killed himself,” he said.
Nonetheless, he continued, a probe into the situation is ongoing.
