Mumbai Man Dies Of Slow Poisoning. Cops Find His Wife’s Deadly Secret

In Mumbai, a horrific event has come to light in which a woman and her lover are accused of slowly poisoning the woman’s husband to death. The wife and her lover were both taken into custody by the police on suspicion of murder and conspiracy. Until December 8, the two had been held in police custody.

The woman, who has been identified by the police as Kavita, had reportedly separated from her husband Kamalkant a few years prior but afterwards returned back to his home in Santacruz, citing the future of their child. According to the authorities, Kamalkant and Kavita’s lover Hitesh Jain were childhood friends who both came from wealthy households.

Meanwhile, Kamalkant’s mother passed away unexpectedly from a gastrointestinal condition. A few months later, Kamalkant too started experiencing stomach pain, and his health began to decline. His blood had extremely high quantities of thallium and arsenic, which experts described as rare metallic compounds to find in human blood.

On November 19, Kamalkant passed away while receiving medical care at the Bombay Hospital. Police initially reported a death as accidental, but after suspecting a plot, they turned the investigation over to the Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch, where they arrested Kavita and her partner Hitesh.

Inspector Sanjay Khatale claims that the victim’s medical records, family members’ statements, including his wife’s, as well as details about the victim’s diet all contributed to revealing the plot and the murderer’s motivation. According to the investigation, Kavita and her partner Hitesh poisoned Kamalkant’s food over time with the goal of killing him.

Since Kamalkant’s illness exhibited symptoms that were identical to those of the victim’s mother, police are now looking into the possibility that both women were poisoned.
