Mukesh Ambani Unveils AI Manifesto to Transform Reliance into AI-Native Enterprise
Mukesh Ambani has unveiled a draft artificial intelligence manifesto aimed at transforming Reliance Industries into an AI-native deep-tech enterprise. Addressing employees, Ambani described artificial intelligence as the most consequential technological development in history and set a target of achieving a ten-fold productivity boost across Reliance’s workforce of over 600,000 people. The broader vision also includes delivering a 10x impact on India’s economy and society through what he termed “Affordable AI for every Indian.”
The manifesto outlines a two-part strategy. The first focuses on internal transformation, where AI becomes a core way of working rather than a standalone technology initiative. Reliance plans to redesign end-to-end workflows, reorganise work around outcomes, and re-engineer key processes such as procure-to-pay and order-to-cash to remove manual inefficiencies. A standardised digital core, strong governance, and human-in-the-loop controls will ensure faster decision-making without compromising safety, accountability, or trust.
The second part extends the AI vision beyond the group to India’s wider AI ecosystem. Ambani highlighted opportunities across telecom, retail, energy, healthcare, education, financial services, and green technologies, leveraging platforms like Reliance Jio and its vast retail network for scale. Reliance Foundation will also integrate AI to enhance its work in healthcare, education, rural development, disaster mitigation, culture, and conservation. Employees have been invited to submit ideas in January, after which the manifesto will be finalised.
