Tata Motors Quarterly Profit Rises 8.3% on Strong Demand
Tata Motors reported an 8.3% increase in quarterly profit on Wednesday, supported by strong demand from infrastructure, logistics and freight customers. The higher volumes helped the automaker offset rising commodity costs linked to the ongoing Middle East conflict.
The company posted a profit of ₹15.28 billion ($160.3 million) for the April-June quarter, compared with ₹14.11 billion a year earlier. Commercial vehicle demand remained resilient, driven by increased freight activity, infrastructure projects and the continued expansion of e-commerce logistics.
Tata Motors’ total revenue from operations jumped 23.3% to ₹193.3 billion, while domestic vehicle volumes increased 26% from a year earlier. Higher sales and price increases helped contain cost pressures, although core profitability margins declined by 60 basis points to 11.7%.
