Maradu flats to be demolished soon

All the four controversial flats, which were found illegally constructed, is likely to be demolished in the near future.

Of the four flats, at least two have been handed over to farms for demolition. The entire demolition process would cost not less than Rs. 2.32 crores.

Vijay Steels and Edifice Engineering are the two companies which have taken up the responsibility to demolish the flats. Alfa Serene and Jain Coral Cove are the flats which would be taken for demolish at first. The former would be demolished by Vijay Steels and the latter would be demolished by Edifice Engineering. Vijay Steels would charge a sum of Rs. 61 lakhs for demolition. The other would charge a huge sum of Rs. 86 lakhs for the process.

For demolition of the other two flats – H2O Holy Faith and Golden Kayaloram, at least Rs. 64 lakhs and Rs. 21 lakhs are required respectively.

A committee has been constituted to distribute the compensation announced for those who were evicted from the controversial flats.
