Logitech CEO Rejects AI Gadgets as “Solutions Looking for a Problem”

Logitech has no plans to join the growing AI hardware race, despite tech giants like OpenAI exploring AI-based devices with former Apple designer Jony Ive. CEO Hanneke Faber dismissed the need for standalone AI gadgets, arguing they fail to offer real value. Speaking to Bloomberg, she said such products are merely “a solution looking for a problem that doesn’t exist,” pointing to past failures like the Humane AI Pin and Rabbit R1 as proof that the concept has not worked.

While refusing to make dedicated AI devices, Logitech remains committed to integrating artificial intelligence within its existing lineup. The company currently uses AI for features like intelligent video framing in its cameras, and its MX Master 4 mouse enables users to summon ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot with the press of a side button. Logitech maintains an aggressive roadmap of 35–40 products annually, supported by strong R&D investment amounting to about 6% of its total sales.

Faber also highlighted that Logitech relies heavily on AI agents internally, revealing that they are used in almost every meeting. She emphasised the importance of governance frameworks for such systems but affirmed their productivity benefits, noting that organizations without AI agent support risk falling behind.
