A leopard on the loose in Assam attacked several persons, injuring at least 15, including three forest officials. In the previous day in Jorhat, Assam, the leopard attacked people of the Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI), including women and children.

The large cat can be seen roaming the campus in a video that forest officials shot. In a different video, the leopard can be seen scaling a barbed wire fence before assaulting a four-wheeler.

The leopard is thought to have entered the campus from the RFRI, which is surrounded by woodlands on the outskirts of Jorhat.

Officials stated that efforts are being undertaken to tranquillize and catch the large cat and that the locals have been urged to stay inside.

The injured were taken to the hospital and were said to be in a stable condition.
