Kunal Kamra Urges Government Intervention Over Ola Electric Scooter Issues

Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has publicly urged Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to address mounting concerns about Ola Electric’s scooter service, as many Indian customers are reportedly facing issues with the vehicles. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Kamra expressed that customers struggle to reach work and are forced to take high-interest loans to resolve issues attributed to Ola’s poor service, emphasizing, “When will government agencies intervene?”

Kamra also shared a video by another X user showing an Ola facility in Solapur, Maharashtra, where the conditions of electric scooters were reportedly poor and lacking qualified engineers or technicians. The video highlighted the challenges customers face despite their significant financial investments. Social media users joined the conversation, criticizing Ola for failing to address customer grievances and pointing to a lack of corporate accountability.

This is the latest in an ongoing dispute between Kamra and Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, which began when Kamra raised concerns about scooter conditions outside an Ola showroom. Aggarwal’s dismissive response to Kamra, asking him to “help or shut his mouth,” has drawn backlash online, with social media users calling Aggarwal “arrogant.” Calls for government action have grown, as frustrated customers demand better standards and oversight from Ola.
