Kartik Aaryan denies ‘baseless’ report of him raising his fees after Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 success: ‘Promotion hua hai, increment nahi’

Kartik Aaryan is enjoying the success of his film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 at the box office. The horror comedy has already surpassed the Rs 100 crore mark. The film’s total box office receipts are currently at Rs 122.69 crore. As a result of the film’s success, he was rumoured to be raising his fees. The actor, on the other hand, has dismissed the reports as “baseless.”

On Monday, reacting to one such report, Kartik wrote on Twitter, “Promotion hua hai life mein, Increment nahi 😂 Baseless 🙏🏻.” Fans of the actor found his response ‘savage’. A Twitter user commented on the actor’s tweet saying, “SO SAVAGE 😭😭😂😂.” Another user wrote, “Best way to shut such negative pr.” Many left laughing emojis on the tweet.

The movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has been doing well in theatres. When all is said and done, the film is expected to gross Rs 175 crore at the box office. Taran Adarsh, a film trade analyst, revealed the film’s second-week box office haul. He wrote on Twitter, “#BhoolBhulaiyaa2 EXCELS in Weekend 2… SOLID GAINS on [second] Sat and Sun [despite #IPLFinals] indicates it should cross ₹ 150 cr, with an outside chance of touching ₹ 175 cr… [Week 2] Fri 6.52 cr, Sat 11.35 cr, Sun 12.77 cr. The film is a standalone sequel to Akshay Kumar’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa from 2007. While Priyadarshan directed the first film, Anees Bazmee directed the sequel. Apart from Kartik, Kiara Advani, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav play important roles in the film. Kartik said in a statement that the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is “surreal.” “I had a feeling the movie would do well, but I couldn’t have predicted it would do so well,” he said. The actor credited the cast and crew for the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. “I owe the success to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 team, who worked tirelessly on it for three years.” Second, the creators who so brilliantly realised their vision for this entertainer, and most importantly, the ones who have been pouring it with so much love – the audience, who have welcomed us with open arms.”
