Ponniyin Selvan 1: Trisha says Mani Ratnam asked her and Aishwarya Rai to not be friends

The September 30 release of Ponniyin Selvan 1 by director Mani Ratnam has fans eager to see the movie adaptation of the well-known book. Despite the film’s excellent cast, which also includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, Karthi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayam Ravi, and many others, Ratnam has his own methods for giving each character nuance. Trisha recalled one instance in which the director advised her and Aishwarya Rai not to become close friends off-camera.

Aishwarya portrays the role of queen Nandini, while Trisha plays Princess Kundavai. In the story, there are two antagonistic individuals. Working with Ash (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), I mean it’s not an Aishwarya Rai and a Trisha Krishnan who’s there, Trisha stated in a PS1 promotional video. It must be a Kundavai and a Nandini. You two can’t be buddies, Mani Sir said. Please be mindful that Nandini and Kundavai are present. I need some friendly competition between you guys for my scene!

In the twenty years after Trisha made her acting debut in the 2002 Tamil film Mounam Pesiyadhe, she has appeared in a number of films. On the first day of her Ponniyin Selvan 1 filming, the actor said she was a little anxious.

Ponniyin Selvan 1 is based on the well-known Tamil novel of the same name penned by Kalki Krishnamurthy and centres on the Chola empire. Trisha had to dress up as a princess for the movie. While being in a historical drama has long been on her bucket list, preparing for the role had its own unique difficulties.
