Kapil Dev’s Message To Arjun Tendulkar: “If You Can Become Even 50% Like Your Father…”
Arjun Tendulkar was purchased for Rs 30 lakh by Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in February, and fans were expecting the 22-year-old to make his debut this season. But that was not to be, as Arjun was not given the opportunity to demonstrate his abilities.
Arjun has been the subject of speculation as to when the left-arm seamer will make his IPL debut. People should leave him alone, according to former India captain Kapil Dev, and the message to the youngster should be to just enjoy his cricket. Kapil Dev also stated that while having the Tendulkar surname has its benefits and drawbacks, everyone should keep in mind that Arjun is still a young boy.
“Why are you talking about him? Because he is Sachin Tendulkar’s son, you are referring to him. Allow him to play his own cricket and refrain from comparing him to Sachin. Let me tell you a story about Don Bradman’s son, who changed his name because he couldn’t handle the pressure. Because everyone expected him to be like his father, he dropped the surname Bradman “On the Uncut YouTube channel, Kapil said.
“Don’t put any unnecessary pressure on Arjun. He is a small child. It’s unjust. Having the name Tendulkar has both advantages and disadvantages. Who are we to say anything to Sachin when he has played such a significant role? But there is one thing I’d like to say to him. Go ahead and have fun. There’s no need to back up your claims. There is nothing better than becoming half as good as your father. Because Sachin Tendulkar was such a great player, we have high expectations when his name is mentioned. We should simply leave him alone and tell him to enjoy his cricket “he said.
The Mumbai Indians paid Rs 30 lakh for Arjun Tendulkar in the mega auction. Arjun has only played two T20s in his career, but he has taken two wickets at a 33.50 average.
In January of this year, he made his T20 debut for Mumbai against Haryana, and his next T20 game was against Puducherry.
