‘Is that Amitabh Bachchan strolling through the park?’ A video of Big B’s doppelganger has gone viral
A few lucky fans may have the opportunity to meet their idols on the streets of Mumbai, but such occurrences are more uncommon than one might think. People were perplexed when they saw Amitabh Bachchan strolling through the park alone, with his security detail conspicuously absent. Big B’s lookalike Shashikant Pedwal was revealed to be the culprit, and social media was captivated.
In a video that has gone viral on the internet, a man dressed in a grey athleisure outfit with white sneakers was seen walking in a park, looking exactly like the legendary Indian actor. He had everything down to a tee, from his hairstyle to senior Bachchan’s signature beard and even his gait. The uncanny resemblance quickly sparked a debate, with many people wondering if the Sholay star was really out in public without any security. However, it turned out to be Shashikant Pedwal, his famous doppelganger.
Pedwal powerwalked to the tune of ‘Andheri Raaton Mein’ from Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic 1987 film Shahenshah in a Reel video. One Instagram user commented, “I honestly thought it was Amitabh Bachchan,” while another added, “You look more like BIG B than BIG B himself.”
Pedwal is a teacher by trade who has been portraying Bachchan on stage for more than a decade. Using his impersonation skills for good, he has received praise online for visiting cancer patients dressed as Bachchan to spread joy. Pedwal made headlines during the coronavirus pandemic for virtually entertaining Covid-19 patients during stressful times.
