International Fashion Fest inaugurated by Mr. V.P.Nandakumar
Kochi: The second edition of Manappuram Riti Jewellery International Fashion Fest, organised by PEGASUS, was held at Dream Hotel, today at 6.30pm. The International Fashion Fest is a day branded entertainment environment providing activities and opportunities for fashion designers and sponsors to come face-to-face with the principal tastemakers, celebrities, musical talent, media and consumers during the Fashion Fest.
The International Fest presented three designer’s collections.
Fatiz
Noushija MA from a Thrissur- the cultural capital of Kerala is the Managing Director of Fatiz Garments. She has ventured into fashion business since 2005. Her designs were innovative and successfully bridging the gap between traditionalism and modernity. Fatiz is already a favorite name among celebrities. Her exclusive designs in the movies like Mairikudoru Kunjadu, Oru Marubhumikadha etc are super hits in south India.. Her designs are regularly featured in the cover pages of leading magazines and works as consultant for leading channels . She is the first person to launch designer collection Fashion show in a South Indian Award night.
Matin Mac
The “Ethics” Studio at Panampilly Nagar, Kochi is a house of high end fashion that strives to bring out the most exquisite designs that match your style. And the man behind these awe-inspiring designs is meticulous in catering to that elite clientele who understand fashion as an extension to one’s own personalities. If his fashion design training form Istituto Marangoni London and an enviable internship with Dior is not enough to set him a step higher than other designers in the city, let his wedding wear speak for themselves. This season, it is a canvas of pink, gold and blue for the Indian bridal wear collection. Luxurious silks, linens and satin were used to get those perfect cuts and silhouettes that guarantee an unforgettable wedding look. For him fashion is truly a way of life.
WEAVERS VILLAGE – “Wedding Essentials”
“Weavers Village was started in order to bring more youngsters into the field of handloom and is designed for the Triple Bottom Line “people, planet & profits”. They tried to promote eco-friendly products through their venture and a share of the profit goes to the weaving community and women empowerment. Their vision is to revive the importance of handloom and art globally”.
Wedding essentials are their Spring Summer Collection 2015 for those who really wish to make their wedding a lifetime experience. A lavish blend of Kancheepuram silks and Kerala handlooms with original zari with lots of layers and flares is the season’s wedding trend. The in between shades in neons, pinks and saffrons bring in the richness of the celebration of love. Experimenting with traditional, coloured borders and original golden zaris, the women’s wear line talks about an elite class of stylish handlooms with the play of layers and lines.
Designers Sreeremya Sambath (NID) and Sobha Ashwin (ASB) fronm Thiruvananthapuram duo are passionate about artistic innovations in handlooms and handcrafted sustainable products with a social commitment. An identity in each garment is what is promised for.
The two and a half hour show with cultural extravaganza was directed by Mr. Ajit Ravi Pegasus. 20 models along with celebrities Unni Mukundan, Ann Augustine, Mridula Murali, Mithun Murali, Rimi Tomy, Anson Paul walked the ramp to show case the designer collections of which 7 are beauty pageant title winners. Famous fashion choreographer from Bangalore Mr. Sameer Khan was the choreographer for the show.
