India’s Operation Sindoor Kills 70 Terrorists, Masood Azhar Confirms Family Losses

In a decisive retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) installations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Indian forces fired 24 precision-guided missiles at nine identified terror-linked locations, killing over 70 terrorists and injuring more than 60. Indian officials stated that all targets were thoroughly vetted to ensure minimal civilian casualties, with strikes conducted during late-night hours for greater precision.
JeM chief and UN-designated global terrorist Maulana Masood Azhar confirmed the loss of 14 people, including 10 of his family members, in the airstrike on JeM’s Bahawalpur headquarters, Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah. In a statement reported by PTI, Azhar claimed that his elder sister, her husband, a nephew and his wife, a niece, five children, and two close aides were killed, calling them “guests of Allah.” He expressed no remorse over their deaths and stated he wished to have joined them.
While Pakistan has denied Azhar’s presence on its soil, India has maintained for years that he operates freely from Pakistan, orchestrating major terror attacks including the 2001 Parliament attack, 2008 Mumbai attacks, and 2019 Pulwama bombing. Indian defence officials also released post-strike visuals showing limited collateral damage and emphasized Pakistan’s attempt to inflate civilian impact to shift global attention.
