India Urges China to Improve Trade Balance and Market Access
India has urged China to address long-standing trade concerns, including fair market access and the widening trade imbalance, during a meeting between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of a regional gathering in Manila.
Jaishankar said India also highlighted concerns over the predictability of supply chains, stressing the importance of creating a more stable and reliable framework for bilateral trade. He noted that both countries should work together to resolve key issues affecting economic cooperation.
The minister further said India and China need to agree on the schedule of meetings under various bilateral mechanisms and platforms based on their shared priorities. The discussions reflect ongoing efforts to improve communication and strengthen economic engagement between the two neighbouring countries.
