India Finds No Fault in Boeing 787 Fuel Switch After Air India Inspection

India’s civil aviation ministry has confirmed that a detailed examination by Boeing found no abnormality in the fuel control switch of an Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The inspection was carried out after pilots operating a London–Bengaluru flight reported a possible issue with the switch in February.

Deputy Civil Aviation Minister Murlidhar Mohol informed Parliament that while the initial examination found the fuel control switch functioning normally, Boeing is continuing a more detailed inspection of the aircraft’s complete thrust control module at one of its facilities as part of the investigation.

The findings come amid heightened scrutiny of Boeing 787 fuel control switches following the fatal Air India Dreamliner crash near Ahmedabad in June last year, which claimed 260 lives. Authorities continue to investigate the earlier accident while closely monitoring the aircraft’s critical systems.
