In a first, Shankar shoots Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, Ram Charan’s RC15 simultaneously
Fans questioned whether Shankar was putting his other project, #RC15, on hold when he recently stated that shooting for the Kamal Haasan, Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh blockbuster Indian 2 will resume from Thursday.
The director assuaged fans’ fears over the much anticipated film, which will star Ram Charan and Kiara Advani in the key roles. “Hi Everyone, Indian 2 and #RC15 will be shot simultaneously. Ready to shoot the next schedule of #RC15 from first week of September in Hyderabad and Vizag! @DilRajuOfficial @AlwaysRamCharan @SVC_official, (sic)” he wrote, explaining how he plans on juggling both the film’s schedules going forward.
The 1996 movie Indian, which also starred Manisha Koirala and Kasthuri in the key roles, has a sequel called Indian 2. The movie, titled Bharateeyudu when it was released in Telugu, was a huge success thanks to its plot, performances, and music. Indian 2 was announced in 2017 and began filming in 2019, but production was delayed in 2020 due to an accident that occurred on the set. The movie appears to be back on track again after Covid-19 and legal challenges.
#RC15 was introduced and began production in 2021. The movie has so far been filmed in Punjab, Maharashtra, Hyderabad, and Andhra Pradesh. While Tirru will be in charge of the cinematography, Thaman S will create the music for the movie. In addition to Srikanth, Jayaram, Sunil, and Anjali will also be seen in the movie.
