HPCL Delivers 146 Lakh LPG Cylinders In 10 Days As Digital Bookings Cross 99%
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) delivered 146.4 lakh LPG cylinders between April 1 and April 10, reflecting sustained demand for cooking gas across India. During the same period, the company also handled over 10.7 lakh kilolitres of petrol and diesel, supported by a large fleet of more than 70,000 tankers to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply.
A notable trend has been the sharp rise in digital adoption, with 99.2% of LPG bookings now made through online and automated platforms. The company also reported increased demand for smaller, affordable cylinders, supplying nearly 2.94 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders and over 20,000 2-kg cylinders—indicating a growing preference among migrant and low-income households for flexible fuel options.
To strengthen distribution integrity, HPCL carried out extensive inspections and enforcement actions, including thousands of checks, raids, and legal measures against irregularities. The company emphasized that LPG availability remains stable, attributing occasional local shortages to temporary demand spikes and advising consumers to avoid panic booking while relying on official digital channels.
