Four Indian Tyre Manufacturers Enter World’s Top 20 Rankings
India has strengthened its position in the global tyre market, with four Indian companies ranking among the world’s top 20 manufacturers, according to the latest Global Tyre Report by Tire Business based on CY2024 sales. MRF led the Indian performance with a 13th global ranking, followed by Apollo Tyres at 14th place. JK Tyre & Industries secured the 19th position, while CEAT entered the list for the first time at 20th.
Industry leaders say the achievement underscores India’s rising manufacturing capabilities, technology advancement, and global competitiveness. “This milestone validates India’s emergence as a global hub for high-quality, value-driven tyre manufacturing,” said Rajiv Budhraja, Director General of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA). Apollo has climbed three ranks since 2013, JK Tyre has moved six places, and CEAT has advanced three positions in just one year.
Indian tyre manufacturers have also achieved leadership in specialised categories. MRF tops the global racing tyre production, has strong positioning in motorcycle and farm tyre segments, and remains a key player in high-performance products. According to a joint ATMA–PwC report titled Viksit Bharat 2047, India’s tyre output is projected to grow nearly fourfold by 2047, and industry revenues could expand to ₹13,00,000 crore, signalling massive long-term growth potential.
