Fake ENO, Nescafé Racket Busted in Delhi
A major counterfeit goods operation involving fake ENO and Nescafé products has been uncovered by police in Delhi. Authorities seized over 2 lakh fake sachets and packets during raids at two flats in East Delhi’s Madhu Vihar, which were being used as illegal manufacturing units.
Investigators found workers producing and packaging counterfeit goods using substandard materials designed to closely mimic original branding. The seized items, valued at around ₹20 lakh, indicate a well-organised operation that had been running for months and distributing products through wholesale and retail channels. Four people have been arrested, and police are now tracking the wider supply network.
Officials warned that the case poses serious public health risks, as fake consumables may contain unsafe or unregulated ingredients. Items like ENO and instant coffee are widely used daily, increasing the danger to unsuspecting consumers. The crackdown highlights a growing trend of counterfeit food products in India and the need for vigilance when purchasing everyday goods.
