Employee Arrested After Alleged Child Abuse at Capgemini Bengaluru Daycare Centre
Authorities in Bengaluru have arrested a woman and launched an investigation into four other staff members following allegations of physical and mental abuse at a childcare centre operating on the Capgemini campus. The probe began after police received a complaint on June 29 through a children’s helpline, supported by videos that allegedly showed children being mistreated at the facility.
According to the police complaint, daycare staff allegedly assaulted children and used intimidation tactics, including threatening crying children by saying they would be put inside a washing machine. Capgemini clarified that the daycare centre was operated by an external service provider, Little Scholars, and stated that the facility has been temporarily closed while the investigation is underway.
The incident has prompted India’s National Human Rights Commission to seek a detailed report from Karnataka authorities within two weeks. Bengaluru Police have also announced a review of daycare facilities operating within company campuses across the city to ensure compliance with safety and childcare regulations, as concerns grow over employee welfare standards in corporate childcare centres.
