ED summonses Congress leader D K Sivakumar

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Senior Congress leader D K Sivakumar in connection with a money laundering case.

The Karnataka-based leader has called the move as a politically motivated. He said he was targeted for hosting Congress leaders from Gujarat.

The information about the ED summons has been published by the Congress leader itself. He has used his Twitten handle to publicise the information.

Mr Sivakumar is a prominent leader in the state of Karnataka. He played a key role in foiling the BJP’s attempt to come to power in the state immediately after the election in which the saffron emerged as the single largest party in the Karnataka state legislative assembly.

Recently also, he tried to prevent the entrance of the Saffron party to the corridor of power, when a situation favourable for the BJP emerged due to the unexpected resignation of more than a dozen Congress and JD(S) assembly members.

That latest attempt miserably failed, paving way for the entrance of the BJP to the seat of power in the state.

In his twitter statement, he said that he only did what he is supposed to do as a party worker. He asserted that he would continue to lead as a loyal soldier of the Congress party.
