DMK Launches Public Participation Portal for 2026 Election Manifesto in Chennai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin on Saturday launched the DMK Election Manifesto Portal 2026 at the party headquarters, Anna Arivalayam, in Chennai. The digital platform is designed to enable people from various sections of society — including traders, farmers, government employees, professionals, and youth — to submit their ideas and suggestions for inclusion in the party’s upcoming election manifesto. At the event held at Kalaignar Hall, Stalin also introduced the official email ID, WhatsApp number, and social media channels of the Manifesto Drafting Committee.

Addressing the gathering, DMK Deputy General Secretary and Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said the portal was envisioned as a step toward creating a “people’s manifesto,” reflecting the aspirations of citizens across sectors. She noted that contributors would be able to speak, type, or upload their inputs on the platform, which will also use AI-based tools to consolidate recommendations for the committee. Kanimozhi added that the DMK has historically focused on delivering on its promises and said the new initiative strengthens that commitment to public participation.

Meanwhile, the BJP levelled criticism at the ruling party, accusing the DMK government of what it called a “failure model” in Tamil Nadu. BJP spokesperson C.R. Kesavan cited remarks by a Congress-affiliated leader on rising state debt and questioned the stability of the Congress–DMK alliance, urging Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin to respond. Tamil Nadu is among the key states scheduled to go to the polls later this year.
