D&B announces SME Awards 2014 – Unique Times

Delhi, November 24, 2014: Dun & Bradstreet, the world’s leading provider of global business information, knowledge and insight announced the ‘D&B SME Business Excellence Awards 2014’. The awards felicitated 27 of India’s leading Small and Medium Enterprises of India for their significant achievement and contribution over the years. The occasion also marked the launch of Dun & Bradstreet’s premier publication, Leading SMEs of India 2014.

We also analyzed 100 enterprises that constitute a microcosm of high performing SMEs in the country. The aggregate total income of these companies grew by approximately 35% y-o-y in FY14 and net profit margin has improved from 4.9% in FY 13 to 5.7% in FY 14. Our study revealed that in spite of adverse conditions these enterprises managed to climb the ladder of success on the back of overall operational excellence such as robust quality products, innovative marketing strategies and efficient use of technology to name a few. We are confident that these enterprises which have demonstrated exemplary performance in their respective fields will set a new benchmark for the SME community. The publication, ‘Leading SMEs of India 2014’ was released by Chief Guest, Shri Jayant Sinha, Honourable Minister of State, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. Also present at the event were Mr. Abraham Chacko, Executive Director, Federal Bank Limited; Mr. Ravindra Nath, Chairman & Managing Director – NSIC and Mr. Shankar Chakraborty, CEO – SMERA Ratings Limited along with leading names from the SME industry.
