Covid 19 Updates: Kerala to undergo complete lockdown from May 8
Kerala has reported total lockdown in the state from May 8 till May 16 over the rising Covid-19 cases in the state. Kerala on Wednesday recorded the most noteworthy single-day spike with more than 41,000 new Covid cases.
In a tweet on Thursday, the Kerala CM’s Office said, “As coordinated by the CM, the whole State of Kerala will be under lockdown from 6am on 8 May to 16 May. This is behind the scenes of a strong second wave of COVID-19.”
On Wednesday, Kerala recorded 41,953 new Covid cases in the most elevated single-day spike up until now. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan portrayed the circumstance in Kerala as genuine and added that severe measures should be taken to check the Covid spread.
With the expansion of more than 41,000 new Covid-19 cases, Kerala’s caseload has gone up to 17,43,932, while 23,106 individuals were restored of the contamination, pushing the recuperations to 13.62 lakh.
