Colgate India Q4 Profit Rises on Premium Product Demand
Colgate-Palmolive India reported a 2.7% rise in adjusted quarterly profit, driven by strong demand for premium oral care products such as whitening and oral beauty ranges. Profit before exceptional items and tax increased to 4.91 billion rupees from 4.78 billion rupees a year earlier.
The company posted revenue from operations of 15.83 billion rupees for the quarter, up 9% year-on-year. Domestic net sales also climbed 9.2%, reflecting steady consumer demand and continued growth in higher-value product categories. Colgate said its premium segment is expanding at three times the pace of the overall business.
However, quarterly expenses rose 11.7% due to higher raw material costs, partly linked to a surge in crude prices amid ongoing geopolitical tensions. The company also recorded a one-time charge of 165.8 million rupees related to severance and restructuring expenses.
