Castiest Remarks Case: Former Cricketer Yuvraj Singh released on bail

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has been arrested and released on bail for allegedly making the castiest remarks. Yuvraj Singh made a castiest slurs against Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in an Instagram live session. Haryana police said they were investigating the complaint.

Yuvraj was arrested following a court order and released on interim bail, Haryana senior police officer Nikita Gahlout said. However, his aide Shasmeen Kara said that the cricketer has not been arrested. Meanwhile, media reported that Yuvraj appeared before Hisar police along with his aides, including security personnel. The complaint-based incident took place in June 2020.

It is alleged that Yuvraj made racial slurs while Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj were talking about Chahal’s tik-tok videos on Instagram. Yuvraj had earlier expressed regret over the remark. Yuvraj said the reference was accidental and apologized if anyone was in pain. A Haryana-based Dalit activist has filed a complaint against Yuvraj. An FIR was registered in the case.
