Bold and beautiful; Interview with Miss South India Meera Mitun
- You won Miss South India 2016. How did that moment feel?
I cried. I was so overwhelmed that I literally burst into tears on stage in front so many people. When they called out my contestant number, I went to get my crown and then I stood before so many people who are clicking pictures. It felt like a dream, I was living my dream literally. I dedicated this to the almighty without whom I wouldn’t be in that position. I dedicated my winning moment to god wholeheartedly.

- How did you prepare for the pageant? What was the process like?
It was very difficult, no doubt about it. I have participated and won beauty pageants Miss Face of Chennai 2014 and Miss Chennai 2015. But this was a bigger competition, conducted by a big brands like Pegasus, Manappuram and Parfum monde dubai Confident group, and participants are from all over South India. They are all exceptionally beautiful and talented. So, being on that platform with them was a huge challenge. I was confident in myself and in what I do, so winning didn’t matter to me. My priority was to give the best performance I could before the audience, the judges and to stand at par with my fellow contestants. I paid complete attention to my performance, what I needed, how I should stand, how good I can be. Above all, whether I win or lose, I wanted to have the best experience from this competition and to have that satisfaction.
- Miss south India will participate in Miss Queen of India, who will go on to represent India in Miss Asia beauty pageant. Are you in process of preparation?
Of course I am working hard. I am focusing on winning the Miss Asia beauty pageant, I am not thinking about Miss Queen of India because I will win no matter what. Representing my country on Miss Asia platform with international participants is my ultimate aim.
