BJP’s Khushbu Sundar Nominated As Member Of Women’s Rights Body

Khushbu Sundar, the former actor who is now a BJP leader, has been proposed for election to the National Commission for Women (NCW). The announcement of Ms. Sundar’s appointment was published on social media by the BJP member who serves on the national executive committee.

V Annamalai, head of the Tamil Nadu BJP, praised her and said that her appointment was a reward for her “relentless pursuit and fight” for women’s rights.

“I thank our H’ble PM @narendramodi ji and the government of India for entrusting me with such a huge responsibility. I shall strive hard to protect, preserve & nourish Nari Shakthi which is growing leaps & bounds under your leadership. Looking forward eagerly. #JaiHind @NCWIndia,” Ms Sundar tweeted.

The actor, who is also a producer of films and a television host, initially joined the DMK but then switched to Congress and was appointed the party’s spokesperson. Thereafter, she joined the BJP and ran for the Tamil Nadu Assembly in 2021. She was defeated by N Ezhilan of the DMK.

Along with two other people, she has been proposed as an NCW member.
