Bhuvneshwar Kumar Recalled for India’s T20 Decider Against West Indies
India have added fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar to their squad for the fifth and deciding T20 International against the West Indies in Bengaluru on Saturday, October 17. The move comes as Arshdeep Singh continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained during the fourth T20I in Hyderabad. The five-match series is level at 2-2 following the West Indies’ victory in the previous match.
Arshdeep suffered a blow to his bowling shoulder during the fourth game and also retired hurt after being struck while batting. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said a final decision on his availability for the series decider would be taken before the match. Bhuvneshwar, 36, returns to India’s T20I setup for the first time in nearly four years.
The experienced seamer has also been named in India’s squad for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand, which begins on October 22. His inclusion provides India with an additional pace option as they prepare for the crucial series decider against the West Indies.
