Bheemla Nayak, starring Pawan Kalyan, given an OTT release date

Bheemla Nayak, a Telugu film starring Pawan Kalyan, was released on February 25 and immediately set the Telugu box office on fire. The film will now be released on OTT platforms a month after its theatrical release. From March 25, the Saagar K Chandra directed film, which revolves around an ego clash between a police officer and an ex-army officer, will be available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar and Aha.

In the last week of February, Bheemla Nayak premiered to mixed reviews. “The Telugu remake is all about one man and one man only- Bheemla Nayak aka Pawan Kalyan,” Manoj Kumar of indianexpress.com wrote in his review. And who is Bheemla Nayak, anyway? The film doesn’t even provide a complete answer. Bheemla Nayak has a backstory, but it doesn’t reveal much about him. The flashback only proves that Bheemla Nayak is serious about his work. He is a saviour for the poor, women, and children, as well as a nightmare for bad guys. In the aforementioned scene, Bheemla Nayak uses his bare hands to pluck a fully grown man’s arms from his shoulder socket as if it were a strand of hair.”

Director Saagar K Chandra previously stated in an interview that the first challenge of the remake was to create a larger-than-life character for Pawan Kalyan.”When Trivikram and I discussed remaking the film in Telugu, the first challenge we faced was making Biju Menon’s character larger than life and ensuring that the film revolved around him. Pawan Kalyan portrayed the character in Telugu. Koshi’s character was more important in Ayyappanum Koshiyum. So, in Telugu, a kind of paradigm shift happened. We then had to crunch a 3-hour film into less than 2 hours 30 minutes. The original version was primarily a procedural, with the majority of the emotional outburst occurring in the final 30 minutes. It’s difficult to keep a half-hour audience engaged without a change in the arc. “We made a lot of changes to get the tempo up,” he said.
