Ayushmann Khurrana’s Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui received rave reviews on the day of its release
On the day of its release, the Bollywood movie ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ starring Ayushmann Khurrana received positive reviews. Vani Kapoor is the heroine of the film directed by Abhishek Kapoor, who has directed films like Rock On, Kai Po Che and Kedarnath. Ayushman plays the role of Manwinder Munjal in this romantic drama. Vani Kapoor’s character is called Manvi.
With 2,500 screens in India and 500 screens in overseas markets, the film has been screened in over 3,000 theaters worldwide. Trade analysts expect the film to hit the box office this weekend, with positive reviews on social media, including Twitter, despite reports that the first screenings of the release day received 10-12 per cent occupancy at the Pan India level.
Many in the audience are of the opinion that the film, which has come to feel like a typical romantic drama in Bollywood, is something that simply speaks to a serious subject. The film talks about gender identity through the love that naturally arises between Manu and Manvi. While most viewers view the film as breaking stereotypes, criticism of the film is mounting from some quarters.
Written by Supratik Sen and Thushar Paranjpe, the film is scripted by the director. Cinematography is by Manoj Lobo. Music by Sachin-Jigar. Produced under the banner of T Series and Guy in the Sky Pictures.
