Anthropic’s ‘Mythos’ AI Signals Future Shift in IT Services, Says MOFSL

Anthropic has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence model, Mythos, which analysts at Motilal Oswal Financial Services (MOFSL) believe could significantly reshape segments of the IT services value chain, particularly in cybersecurity and software engineering. While the brokerage noted that Indian IT firms are unlikely to face immediate disruption, it emphasized that pressure to adapt will intensify as AI capabilities evolve. Companies that successfully integrate domain-specific AI into their offerings are expected to gain a competitive edge, whereas traditional labour-driven service models may gradually lose relevance.

Mythos, currently being rolled out selectively under “Project Glasswing,” represents a major leap over earlier Claude models with advanced coding and cybersecurity capabilities. According to MOFSL, the model is highly effective in identifying and fixing vulnerabilities, even uncovering a decades-old flaw in OpenBSD that had previously gone undetected. Its ability to analyze complex codebases, simulate exploits, and compress effort in testing and audit functions could significantly transform enterprise security processes, reducing reliance on manual intervention.

However, the model’s powerful dual-use nature has prompted a cautious deployment strategy, with Anthropic reportedly restricting wider access due to safety concerns. MOFSL highlighted that while Mythos does not immediately disrupt the IT services ecosystem, it underscores a broader industry shift from general-purpose AI to domain-specific solutions. Although adoption challenges such as legacy systems and data silos may slow near-term impact, the long-term trajectory points toward increased automation, deeper AI partnerships, and a structural transformation of IT service delivery.
