Allu Arjun Named in Charge Sheet Over Stampede Death During ‘Pushpa 2’ Premiere
The city police have filed a charge sheet against 23 individuals — including leading Telugu actor Allu Arjun — in connection with the death of a woman during a stampede at the premiere of Pushpa 2 in December 2024. The theatre management has been listed as the prime accused, while Allu Arjun has been named as Accused No. 11 in the case, which stems from the incident at Sandhya Theatre where a large crowd gathered to see the actor during the film’s premiere.
According to police, the stampede resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and injuries to her eight-year-old son. Following the tragedy, a case was registered at the Chikkadpally police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Allu Arjun, his security personnel, and the theatre management, based on a complaint by the victim’s family. The actor was arrested on December 13, 2024, and released the following day after the Telangana High Court granted interim bail, which was later converted into regular bail.
In the aftermath of the incident, Allu Arjun and the makers of Pushpa extended financial assistance to the bereaved family, while the Telangana government also announced support for the victim’s child. The charge sheet marks a significant development in the case as legal proceedings move forward against all 23 accused.
