Alliance Air To Function As Independent Business Unit From Today

The companies announced on Friday that Alliance Air is no longer a subsidiary of Air India and will be run as an independent business unit under the Government of India.
According to an official statement released by Alliance Air, “from April 15, 2022, Alliance Air will no longer be a part of Air India after its disinvestment and will be run as an independent Business Unit under the Government of India.”

“Going forward with absolute efficiency, Alliance Air will now sell its tickets under the Alliance Air banner,” said Vineet Sood, CEO of Alliance Air, in a statement.

“For the kind attention of our esteemed passengers: Alliance Air is no longer a subsidiary of Air India,” Air India said on Twitter.

“Passengers with Air India tickets with a 4-digit flight number beginning with 9 or a 3-digit flight number beginning with 91 should be aware that their bookings have been transferred to Alliance Air. From April 15, 2022, Air India will no longer handle Alliance Air bookings or inquiries “According to Air India.

The news comes less than three months after the Tata Group took over Air India from the Indian government.
