Alia Bhatt shares her favourite Darlings memes and it’s a laughter fest

After Gangubai Kathiawadi’s enormous success on Netflix, Alia Bhatt is returning with the next Netflix movie Darlings, which also stars Shefali Shah. The connection between the two has attracted internet users since the teaser for the movie was released earlier this week. People appear to be particularly interested in one moment from the teaser, which is also Alia’s first production. Naturally, the incident has been turned into a meme, and Alia has now shared her favourite memes.

Along with Bhatt and Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew also play prominent parts in this dark comedy about a mother-daughter team trying to make a living in Mumbai. The movie, which is scheduled for release next month, centres on how far the two will go to realise their goals and aspirations.Memes have been created based on a specific moment from the teaser in which the mother and daughter are talking to a police officer about a murder. The pair can be seen attempting to make it clear that they are not to blame for the purported crime. Bhatt explains in the teaser, “Yes sir, the killing was only in our imagination.” The cop retorted by asking them to stop fooling around, and ask if he looks like an idiot to them. As they try to prove their innocence whilst saying they don’t see anything written on the cop’s forehead, their expressions have left everyone amused online.

Desi memes are now exploiting the scene in comparable contexts to portray the conflicted emotions of being astonished and judgmental at the same time. The Highway star posted some of her favourite memes on Instagram.

Director Jasmeet K Reen makes his full-length feature film debut with Darlings, a project that is produced by Gauri Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Gaurav Verma. Gulzar wrote the lyrics, and Vishal Bharadwaj provided the music.
