Ajay Maken resigns from Delhi Congress President Post
Triggering a feeling to speculation among the politicians of the small state of Delhi, renowned congress politician Ajay Maken has filed his resignation from the Delhi Congress President Post, to which the congress leader was appointed at the behest of Congress President Rahul Gandhi.
Those close to the Congress party in the National Capital have said that the resigned congress president has cited his health issues to justify his resignation.
The Congress Party has not yet accepted the resignation officially. The delay the grand old party takes to accept the resignation is what that fuels the feeling of speculation to rapidly spread among the Delhi-based politicians.
Mr Maken is the prime critic of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his party AAP. He has recently criticised several policies taken by the Delhi government, which is ruled by the AAP.
Earlier, there were reports that the Congress Party and AAP were discussing the possibility of contesting together in the National Capital in the upcoming general election in order to prevent the triumph of the Saffron regime.
Some believe that Mr Maken is not convinced by the idea of the AAP-Congress coalition and that is the reason why he has chosen to stay away from the party, at least till the end of the next year’s general election.
Will the proposed Congress-AAP coalition in Delhi affects these parties adversely?
