Aishwarya Rai receives ED notice; asked to appear for questioning
Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been issued a notice by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the Panama Papers revelations. The notice asked her to appear for questioning. The former Miss World is being questioned in a case of violating foreign exchange rules.
The ED asked her to appear at the ED’s Delhi office today or apply for another day. The notice was issued by a special investigation team investigating the Panama Papers. Indications are that the star may not be present today. Aishwarya was not present despite being called twice earlier.
A month ago, her husband Abhishek Bachchan also issued an ED notice. There are indications that her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan will also be summoned for questioning in connection with foreign investment. There are indications that Amitabh Bachchan has been asked to hand over documents related to foreign investment from 2004 to 2017.
