Air India Faces London Lawsuit Over June 2025 Ahmedabad Dreamliner Crash

Air India is facing a lawsuit in London filed by the estates and relatives of some of the victims of the June 2025 passenger jet crash that killed 260 people. Court records show that a personal injury claim involving 11 claimants was filed at the High Court on December 18, though further details were not immediately available.

The tragedy occurred on June 12 when a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 242 people and bound for London’s Gatwick Airport, lost height seconds after taking off from Ahmedabad in western India. The aircraft crashed into a medical college hostel and erupted into a fireball, leaving only one survivor among those on board, while 19 people on the ground were also killed.

Air India and legal representatives for the claimants did not respond immediately to requests for comment. Separately, families of four passengers have filed a lawsuit in the United States against Boeing and Honeywell, alleging the crash was linked to faulty fuel switches manufactured by Honeywell and installed on the aircraft.
