Adani Set to Invest $5 Billion as Google Launches Massive $15-Billion AI Data Hub in India

Adani Group is preparing for one of its biggest digital infrastructure investments, with plans to put up to $5 billion into Google’s upcoming AI data centre ecosystem in Andhra Pradesh. The investment aligns with Google’s massive $15-billion, five-year plan to build its largest AI data hub in India, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital and cloud expansion.

The boom in artificial intelligence has sharply increased the demand for high-density, high-power data centres capable of supporting thousands of interconnected compute chips. Adani Group CFO Jugeshinder Singh said the Google-led facility could significantly expand operations at Adani Connex, the group’s data-centre joint venture with EdgeConneX. He noted that several global players are exploring partnerships as India’s next wave of data centre capacity moves into gigawatt-level infrastructure.

Google, which has allocated around $85 billion globally this year to expand data centre capabilities, is among several tech giants ramping up investments in India. With both Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani accelerating their digital infrastructure plans, the upcoming 1-gigawatt Visakhapatnam AI data centre campus is set to become one of Asia’s largest, strengthening India’s position in the global AI and cloud ecosystem.
