‘A war with our farmers?’, questions Priyanka Gandhi to PM Modi over the wall construction at Delhi

Farmers protest against the three new farm laws which were introduced in September 2020 is still happening. The Dilhi Chalo (transl. Let’s go to Delhi) movement began in November 2020 when farmers mainly from Punjab and Haryana along with other farming union members came together at Delhi to raise their voice against the Acts.

Concreate walls were raised at the Delhi border for security reasons to block farmers from entering into Delhi via the Ghazipur-Meerut highway. This morning Priyanka Gandhi slammed PM Modi with a tweet asking him if he is at war with the farmers.

The number of police personnel with iron rods have increased at the Delhi-Haryana Border between rows of cement barriers to restrict the entry of farmers who continue to make their way toward Delhi, their protest site.

This protest had awakened since November 26 against the newly enacted farm laws: Farmers Production Trade and Commerce ( Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020; Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
