PVR INOX Returns to Profit in Q1
PVR INOX reported a consolidated net profit of ₹565 million for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, compared to a net loss of ₹545 million in the same period last year. The multiplex operator’s revenue from operations rose 11.9% year-on-year to ₹16.22 billion, driven by strong demand for films across Hindi, regional, and Hollywood releases.
The company recorded a 15.9% increase in ticket sales, which reached ₹8.37 billion, while food and beverage revenue climbed 16.7% to ₹5.58 billion. Higher ticket prices, increased spending on concessions, and a steady flow of movie releases helped improve operating performance despite the absence of a major blockbuster.
PVR INOX said India’s box office collections grew 20% during the quarter, supported by strong performances across metro cities and smaller markets. Managing Director Ajay Bijli said the company delivered broad-based growth, improved operating metrics, and has now become net cash positive. Following the results, the company’s shares gained in intraday trading.
