Gautam Adani Tops Hurun Real Estate Rich List
Gautam Adani and family have secured the top spot on the 2026 Grohe-Hurun India Real Estate Rich List after Adani Properties recorded the highest value growth in the sector. The company’s valuation surged 72.5% year-on-year to ₹90,400 crore, adding ₹38,000 crore in value and making it India’s most valuable unlisted real estate developer. The rise follows the Adani Group’s move to consolidate its real estate operations under Adani Properties.
Despite the change at the top of the rich list, DLF retained its position as India’s most valuable real estate company with an enterprise value of ₹1.46 lakh crore, even after a 29.3% decline in valuation. Rajiv Singh and family ranked second on the Hurun real estate rich list with wealth of ₹90,200 crore, narrowly behind Gautam Adani and family. Lodha Developers and Indian Hotels Company held the second and third positions among India’s most valuable real estate companies, while Adani Properties climbed to fourth place.
The report also highlighted a slowdown in India’s real estate sector. The combined valuation of the companies featured in the rankings grew by just 2% to ₹16.5 lakh crore, the weakest growth since the report began. Only 31 companies recorded valuation gains, while 74 saw declines. Adani Properties and Prism (OYO) together contributed nearly two-thirds of the sector’s total value creation, reflecting that growth remained concentrated among a few major players despite a challenging market environment.
