Nestle India Profit Jumps 26% on Strong Demand, Shares Surge
Nestle India reported a 26% rise in quarterly profit, driven by strong demand for packaged food products such as Maggi noodles and KitKat chocolates. The company’s shares responded positively, rising 6.8% following the announcement.
Revenue for the March quarter grew 23% year-on-year to 67.48 billion rupees, marking the company’s highest domestic sales in the past decade. Net profit for the quarter stood at 11.14 billion rupees, compared to 8.85 billion rupees in the same period last year.
The company noted that consumer demand in India has been recovering over the past year, supported by easing inflation and tax cuts. Nestle India also said it plans to expand capacity and focus on increasing sales volumes, though it did not provide a specific timeline.
