Digantara Industries Raises $50 Million to Boost India’s Space Surveillance Capabilities
Indian space-technology startup Digantara Industries has raised $50 million in a fresh funding round to accelerate the development of indigenous space surveillance systems and expand its footprint in the $60 billion global space monitoring and intelligence market. The Bengaluru-based company, founded in 2020, is backed by Peak XV Partners and Kalaari Capital, and attracted new investments from SBI Holdings Japan, 360 One Asset, and film producer Ronnie Screwvala. The company did not disclose its post-funding valuation.
Digantara designs and builds homegrown hardware, software, and artificial intelligence-driven analytics platforms for space situational awareness, catering primarily to governments and defence agencies. Its solutions are already deployed across India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, and Japan, with plans to enter European markets by mid-2026.
The funding comes amid growing global concern over space traffic and orbital debris, particularly in low Earth orbit, which has become increasingly congested due to the rapid expansion of commercial space activities. Digantara currently operates ‘SCOT’, a commercial space-surveillance satellite launched in January 2025, and is developing additional indigenous systems, with all hardware designed and manufactured in Bengaluru.
