“Where ‘e’ stands for eat”: Anand Mahindra uses humour to promote e-mobility

Anand Mahindra, a business billionaire, has also jumped on board to promote e-mobility, but with a unique twist.

Mahindra posted a humorous video of four men riding a dining table with four wheels as they approached a gas station. One of the workers is seen stopping the wheel-equipped table close to the filling location. The man behind the wheel begins eating on his snack as the gas station attendant fills the car with petrol, and his fellow passengers can be seen doing the same. They refuel and then bike quickly onward.

Poking fun at the ride, the Mahindra chairman tweeted, “I guess this is e-mobility. Where ‘e’ stands for eat…”

On Twitter, the video has received more than 8,55,200 views. In the comments section, users posted footage of comparable automobiles in other nations. Many people believed that the idea was not applicable to India’s pothole-filled roadways.“Not possible here in India. We have more potholes than pavements,” commented a user. Another user wrote, “Can use this concept to build e-cart. Will be a great deal of help for sellers who need to push the carts all along to sell their commodities.”

Mahindra is renowned for his snarky tweets and irreverent postings. Mahindra shared a photo of a bullock cart and tagged Tesla CEO Elon Musk in it in April of this year. He referred to it as the first Tesla vehicle and then went on to tout the bullock cart’s benefits, including its lack of emissions, ability to run entirely on its own, lack of fuel requirements, and Google Maps.

Mahindra posted a video of an e-rickshaw that had been adapted to keep people apart during the coronavirus epidemic in April 2020. He was impressed by the auto-rickshaw driver’s “corona creativity” in using plastic and metal sheets to create separate seating for all four passengers.
