Ashes defeat; Head Coach Chris Silverwood sacked from his position

England head coach Chris Silverwood has been ruled out of the Ashes 2021-22 defeat. Silverwood has come under fire from all quarters after the Ashes lost 4-0 to England. Former captain Mike Atherton has called for a complete overhaul of English management. This was followed by the descent of Chris Silverwood.

It is a great honor to be able to coach England. The players are also very proud to be able to work with the staff. Enjoyed the England team with captains Joe Root and Owen Morgan. Chris Silverwood said he is very proud of the current team.

The coach’s resignation comes a day after Ashley Giles, the managing director who hired Silverwood, resigned. Interim managing director and former England captain Andrew Strauss will find a temporary coach for the Windies tour. ECB chief executive Tom Harrison said the coaching staff would be hired after this. The three-match Test series against the Windies starts on March 8. England recently lost the T20 series 3-2 to the Windies.
